Anna's Way Nelson Albariño 2023, New Zealand.

Anna's Way Nelson Albariño 2023, New Zealand 🇳🇿 @thewinesociety1874

£11.50 bottle / in our summer wine box.

Compared with the £17 Albariño I tried during the week, and finished at the weekend (comparatively trying beside this one) the value for money, and rounder mouthfeel, definitely came from The Wine Society's choice.

It was more balanced, less bracing acidity, but still high, however the fruity lemon 🍋 and apple 🍏 flavours, with a hint of floral 🌸and steely, flinty almost saline 🌊🧂(on the palate 👅) components, balanced this out this dry summer wine.

Again, it needs food to smooth it out (🐟🍟salty and olive oil based), or I'm thinking smoked almonds or salty crisps as an apperitif, unless you're ok with dry high acid green fruit wines on their own.

Maybe a hint of unripe peach, but for me this was all green fruit and citrus! And if you do enjoy them solo, then I think you'll very much enjoy this summer tipple served cold!

(Again just lacked a smidge of the silky texture from some v good Albariños, but I do think this is a good wine for £11.50!).
